What is Starfleet Institute of Learning

Starfleet Institute of Learning is a middle school educational program which initially began within the Los Angeles Unified School District, on the campus of Madison Middle School in North Hollywood, California, as Starfleet Institute of the Sciences.    Under the command of Admiral JoAnna Kunes, Academy Training Officers provided the students with an authentic Starfleet atmosphere integrating Federation guidelines and directives with LAUSD, state and national educational standards.  The curriculum emphasized space science and mathematics, using innovative and engaging methodologies.  As cadets, the students advanced through their classes acquiring rank as they progressed through the program, gaining confidence in their abilities to perform as Starfleet officers-in-training.

Now, encompassing the core academic subjects, Starfleet's southern satellite campus, the Starfleet Institute of Learning, located at Dacula Middle School, in Dacula, Georgia, continues to boldly go where no classes have gone before. Under the command of Admiral Kellye Riggins, the 7th and 8th grade Starfleet Technology Teams strive to provide students an educational experience that integrates technology throughout the curriculum, preparing students for the digital world of the future.
